Ami Maki is a Portland-based artist with a passion for exploring multiple media including charcoal, alcohol ink, acrylic, acrylic ink, watercolor, collage and mixed media. As a queer, poly, and neurodivergent individual, she brings a unique perspective to her creative work. She has been collaborating with people for over 25 years to create commissioned portraits and feels most at home when creating work with and for others. She ran a successful pet portrait business for many years. She teaches "Transformative Arts" (awakeningartsacademy.com), a modality for self-knowledge and growth through art. Ami is also the crystal and art buyer at New Renaissance Bookshop (newrenbooks.com) where she curates unique pieces for the community.
